CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A better chance for unsettled weather as we head into the weekend with a stronger southerly flow bringing more moisture back to the region. Temperatures will also be climbing... back into the mid 90's Saturday and Sunday.
For your Friday, we're looking at partly cloudy skies with high temperatures reaching the low 90's late this afternoon. Chances for rain showers are low, only about 10% to 20% this afternoon. Average high for Charlotte now sits at 89 degrees.
Things change a bit by the weekend. For starters, chances for much-needed rain pick up again. There's about a 40% chance for thunderstorms each afternoon. As for temperatures, afternoon readings rebound as well, jumping back up into the mid-upper 90s along with higher humidity.
A weak front arrives early next week too, so more opportunities for rain will extend into the early part of next week. We need it too- as we have now dug into a 5 inch rain deficit for the year in Charlotte. As far as temperatures go, it looks like the heat wave continues, as 90s stay in the forecast over the next 7 days.
