CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Hooray! You made it through our latest #TeamNOSugar 30 day challenge! Whether you're a first-timer or a veteran, it is ALWAYS something to celebrate!
Trust me, I know. After two and half years on this journey, you learn to celebrate EVERY victory. Even the small ones. You said no to the communal candy jar at work. Passed on the Krispy Kreme doughnuts – even with the 'hot-n-now' light on! Went for a walk after dinner when you really wanted to sit on the couch and binge-watch the new season of OITNB. Whatever the victory is, CELEBRATE it!!
After 30 days - ideally you should be several pounds lighter, your clothes are a little looser and your energy should be through the roof! You've learned that you don't have to have the devil (my nickname for sugar) with every meal or snack. It CAN be done, folks! Hopefully you now realize that.
Even if you're going to add sugar back in (careful! That re-entry can be a little bumpy), you should be more mindful of what you're eating. Reach for the fruit instead of the candy. Veggies and hummus instead of the pack of Nabs in the vending machine. WATER instead of soda, fruit juice or Carmel Macchiato from Starbucks! Surely you've learned the perils of drinking your calories.
