CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Early Wednesday will feature a lot of sunshine and mild temperatures. Clouds will build in to the afternoon and highs will climb in to the upper 80's. Scattered thunderstorms are still in the forecast, but it looks like Wednesday afternoon will be a bit less active than Tuesday.
Thunderstorm activity will ramp up again Thursday and Friday with more widespread rain showers and thunderstorms across the area. Highs will be in the upper eighties and low nineties.
Heading into the Fourth of July weekend, temperatures will come up again as we return to the low 90's. We can also expect scattered afternoon thunderstorms, but there will be plenty of dry periods throughout the weekend as well, so we are not expecting a wash-out.
We'll keep a close eye on the forecast heading in to the holiday weekend.
