Crime Stoppers: A clever disguise

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A clever disguise didn't prevent two crooks from leaving clues during a hold-up.

Surveillance at the Kangaroo station on Albemarle Road shows robbers who spent some extra time crafting what appear to be white shirts or white sheets around their heads as they pointed a silver handgun at the clerk.

They were heard on the store's recorder saying, "Give me the money, give me the money."

"It seems like two shirts, one over the face and one over the head, but just enough so you can see the slit of their eyes," said CMPD Officer Tori Roddey.

They were aggressive with the gun and with their language, which contained large amounts of profanity and name calling.

"Hurry up," they demanded.

They not only got the clerk to open the register and hand over all the cash - one man ran to the cooler to retrieve two 40-ounce beers.

"Definitely they're not dummies, because they came in without showing their faces," Roddey said. "But obviously, this place hasn't been robbed in four years. It's probably some guys who needed a quick fix."

The two were last seen running towards a nearby Target store.

Although they were well disguised, police hope someone might recognize one of the voices. You can hear the story by clicking the video on this story.
