CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - We officially hit 100 degrees again in Charlotte yesterday which was the third straight day. Only three times in history have we had longer 100 degree day streaks. We hit four straight days twice (1952, 1983), and had one five day streak in 1986.
We have a few more days of this high heat. Today and tomorrow, highs will be in the mid to upper 90s with plenty of sun. The rain chance is still pretty low this evening but goes back up on Friday.
A strong cool front arriving on Saturday marks a change in our weather-pattern. It will be a stormy start to the weekend with highs in the upper 80s. Following this front, Sunday will feel much more comfortable. Not only will temperatures be down, but the humidity will be too.
Highs will be in the mid 80s and overnight lows fall back down to around 60 Sunday night! By this time, it will have been around two and a half weeks since we've seen highs in the 80s.
Hopefully with the storms on Saturday we can also make some headway on the rain deficit, which now stands at -4.43" in Charlotte.
