Victim ID'd in west Charlotte shooting, investigation underway

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A homicide investigation is underway in west Charlotte.

Police say they responded to a home on Windy Valley Drive Saturday morning around 3:30, near Brookshire Boulevard.

According to police, Shawn Lovell Parker, 49, was found with an apparent gunshot wound inside of the home. He was pronounced dead on scene by Medic. His family has been notified.

Detectives were talking to people who they say were inside the home during the shooting. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say their investigation is active and ongoing.

    According to the Charlotte Fire Department, the fire started at a home in the 1000 block of Lindhall Court. Firefighters said smoke and flames were scene coming from the two-story home.
