STATESVILLE, NC (WBTV) -

Two men were arrested after allegedly using counterfeit $100 bills at multiple Statesville businesses.

Thursday, Statesville police say officers responded to a call from CVS Pharmacy on Turnersburg Road in reference to two men trying to use a fake $100 bill. While officers were at CVS, police received a call saying the same suspects were at the Hobby Lobby, on N. Point Boulevard, attempting to pass another counterfeit bill.

That's where police reportedly arrested Daniel Johnson and Blake Haddad from Hickory.

Police say Johnson and Haddad also used the bills at multiple Turnersburg Highway businesses including PetSmart, Michael's Art and Crafts, Taco Bell, and Home Depot.

Both men have been charged with multiple counts of felony obtaining property by false pretense and three counts of felony uttering a forged instrument. Both Johnson and Haddad were being held in the Iredell County Jail under 20,000 dollar bonds.

Investigators say more charges could be filed.
