CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A Czech Republic man who was visiting family in Charlotte is now facing federal charges after officials say child pornography was found on a computer he was using.

According to a recently unsealed federal criminal complaint, agents with the Charlotte Division Child Exploitation Task Force traced pornographic images of underage children to a computer being used by Ales Svak.

The criminal complaint said Svak, 42, had 1,102 pictures of child pornography and 818 videos of child pornography—including 163 videos involving children under the age of 12.

Svak is accused of accessing images and video of child pornography while he was in Charlotte visiting his mother and step-father.

Court records show that Svak was arrested in October by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police on two felony charges of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
