DOT: Clean up time extended for Bringle Ferry Road ethanol spill

SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) -

From NCDOT: The N.C. Department of Transportation will extend the closure of Bringle Ferry Road so contractors can do environmental cleanup following an ethanol spill during a deadly tanker truck accident that occurred Thursday, April 9 near Salisbury.

Weather has been a factor in the delayed cleanup. Contractors will continue their work on Bringle Ferry Road through Friday, May 8 at 5 p.m.

Motorists will use Panther Creek Road, Ribelin Road, Stokes Ferry Road, Wyatt Grove Church Road and Surratt Road as the signed detour route.

NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
