CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - There has been plenty of rain out there today! Has there been any flooding at your house? Hopefully that answer is no. Here's the problem. We have gotten a lot of rain in the past week – and there's more in the forecast for Monday. Not only that – there could be strong thunderstorms. Do you have a way to get weather information if you're away from WBTV on your television?
Have you tried out our new WBTV Weather App?
It's a lot like the old one… with a few upgrades! The new version offers radar – but you can choose what you want from there. You can choose different overlays like satellite, temperatures… road conditions. Loop the radar to see how fast a storm is moving. You can click on storm tracks if there's a storm in your area to get more info. One of the newest features is lightning tracker. You can see if there's lightning close to you. How handy would that be if you're outside at a baseball game, on the golf course or if your kids are playing outside as a storm is approaching? Did you know lightning can strike up to about 15 miles away from the storm? (It's called a bolt out of the blue)
You can also get an earthquake overlay - but let's really hope we don't need that one!
Wait, there's more! You can also check out this weather blog or watch the latest video forecast from the WBTV Weather Team. Check headlines and even submit your photos.
