For the gardener who suffers from allergies…

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - I know you're out there… and this season must be killing you! Did you know there are actually plants out there that don't have much pollen to ruin your day? Dr. Clifford Bassett, founder and medical director at Allergy and Asthma Care of New York made a list and here's a link http://www.weather.com/health/allergy/news/best-plants-allergies Check it out! There are some good ones on there!

He recommends these plants because they are pretty low pollen producers. Another option is to put the big pollen producers far from your house so there is a lower chance of it getting in.

If you're working out in the yard, remember not to bring any of the pollen back in. As soon as you come in, change clothes and take a shower. Wash your hair too. Also wash the pets more frequently. I know it's a pain but you know how your car is yellow most of the spring? Well, your pets hopefully don't look yellow – but believe me, it's there.

Also, try eating local honey. You can get it at local farmers markets. Just make sure it's local and not brought in from a farmer from another state. You can possibly desensitize yourself and help the local economy. Plus, it's tasty!

If you want to stay up to date on the allergy forecast, you can always check out the forecast on WBTV or wbtv.com. If you want an email sent to you every day, you can sign up receive one through pollen.com by clicking here: http://www.pollen.com/alert.asp

Remember, pollen season won't last forever…
