Rescue workers work quickly to find missing elderly man

SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) -

Thumbs up to the Rowan Rescue Squad, Rowan Sheriff's Office, and Liberty Fire Department!  In a post on the Rowan Rescue Squad's Facebook page on Wednesday, Chief Eddie Cress outlined how members of the Rowan Rescue Squad took part in finding a missing elderly man on Tuesday night.

"Last night Rowan County Rescue Squad received a call to assist the Sheriff's Dept. for a land search," Cress wrote.  "Missing was an elderly man in his late 80's and had been missing over an hour."

"With a K-9 on the ground, a hasty search crew searching the immediate area around his home, interviews continuing and a crew utilizing a thermal imaging camera from Liberty Fire Dept., we were able to locate the gentlemen in about 30 minutes," Cress added.  "We were able to return a very cold gentleman to his family very quickly last night. Thanks to everyone that came out and helped."
