SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) - If you tune in to 1490 AM in Salisbury, the longtime home of WSTP Radio, you'll hear something a little unusual; a heartbeat.
The station signed off the air on Sunday, but its heart started pumping again a few hours later. In the world of radio, it's not unusual for a station that is making a major format change to do something similar and to keep it on the air for several days or even weeks, until the new format is presented.
On Friday WBTV spoke with Bill Graham, representing the new owners, 2B Productions and the Catawba College Foundation. Graham said that the station would be back "in a couple of weeks" and that it would have undergone a major renovation that includes scrapping the news/talk format.
