Vehicle rear-ended after earlier accident in Charlotte

Two people have been taken to the hospital after an early Saturday morning accident.

It happened on I-77 north and South Tryon Street, just before 3:30 a.m.

We're told the driver of a Toyota rear-ended a jaguar. Police say apparently the jaguar was involved in an earlier accident on the interstate.

In the first accident, police say the driver was side-swiped and eventually tried to pull over on the median.

That's when they say the driver of the Toyota came speeding up behind the Jaguar and rear-ended it.

No word on the severity of the injuries.
