Mo Williams was introduced to the Charlotte media Wednesday, the guard could be the missing piece to the Hornets puzzle. Williams averaged 12.2 points, 6.4 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game with the Minnesota Timberwolves this season, including a 52-point effort earlier this season.
Williams feels like Charlotte is the perfect fit for him, and the fact that despite injuries to stars like Kemba Walker, and they are still in the playoff hunt .. says a lot about the coaching staff and players.
The former Timberwolve will have extra time to get in reps with his new team, because of the All-Star break, the Hornets don't play until February 21st against Oklahoma City.
The 12 year NBA veteran will gel quickly with big man Al Jefferson, the Mississippi natives have known each other since the 8th grade. Al called Mo on Monday because he heard whispers of the trade! Williams says their friendship is about more than basketball, and that it's funny how life is bringing them back together.
The duo also played together on the Utah Jazz in 2012, alongside another current Hornet, Mo Williams.
