Police looking for shooter as victim recovers at Baptist Hospital

A Salisbury man was seriously injured after being shot on Friday night while he was in his SUV on Park Avenue.

According to police, David Clayton Moore, 32, stopped the SUV in front of a house at 726 Park Avenue, then got out and stumbled before falling to the ground in front of 730 Park Avenue.

Police are not yet certain of the circumstances surrounding the shooting, but they do say they believe Moore was shot while in his SUV.

Moore was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and has undergone surgery there.  His current condition is not known.

Investigators have told WBTV that they have some leads in the case, but would like to hear from anyone who can help shed light on just exactly what happened.

This incident was the first of three crimes involving gunfire over the weekend.  Early on Saturday morning an unidentified man exchanged gunfire with a Salisbury police officer on W. Bank Street.  Neither the officer nor the gunman was hurt.  On Sunday night or early Monday morning a man was shot and killed just feet away from his front door at the Lakewood Apartment complex.

Police are looking for suspects in all three cases.
