A worker with the City Of Salisbury has been fired, and the city is requesting an independent investigation from the SBI, according to a news release provided to WBTV.
According to the release, Assistant City Manager Zack Kyle announced that an internal review conducted by the Salisbury Customer Service Division revealed a misappropriation of funds of approximately $1500.
As a result of the investigation, customer service representative Joe Elliot was "immediately terminated."
The release further states that the City has requested that the State Bureau of Investigation conduct an independent review.
