Shots Fired In SouthPark Mall Area; Bodies From AirAsia Flight

 BREAKING NEWS ALERT:  Searchers may have found the site in Indonesia's Java Sea where AirAsia Flight 8501 was last seen Sunday, while flying from Indonesia to Singapore.  Officials say they've recovered several bodies floating in the water, and those bodies have been brought to an Indonesian navy ship.  Our Brody O'Connell is following the newest developments in the search for the missing airliner from the WBTV Alert Center.  No other station brings you more up-to-the-minute information.

An investigation is underway this morning in Charlotte's SouthPark area after shots were fired during a car chase.  Our Ashton Pellom is following the story and will be LIVE with the latest details on the search for the shooter.


College football takes the stage in Charlotte tonight!  The Belk Bowl features the Georgia Bulldogs taking on the Louisville Cardinals at Bank of America Stadium  We'll be LIVE at the stadium with more details...as well as information on the many events that are being held leading up to the game tonight that will be carried on national television.


One person is dead following a fire in Rowan County.  The fire started last night at the Conestoga Mobile Home Park on Conestoga Trail.


A man whose brother was killed during a home invasion is scheduled to appear in Mecklenburg County court today.  22-year-old Carlos Delcid is charged with first degree burglary...his brother, 18-year-old Isai Delcid, was shot and killed by a 14-year-old inside the house.


A person is in quarantine here in Mecklenburg County with a case of measles.  Health Department officials say the patient recently traveled to India.

    Jessica Bosemiller works at the local YMCA here and her husband is a Charlotte and Cornelius firefighter. The cancer she has is so rare that only about 2,000 people are diagnosed in the United States each year, yet doctors WBTV spoke with Tuesday say there is a concentrated number of cases showing up in this area.

    Wesley Chapel Fire Department battled a residential fire in Union County Tuesday night. Officials say flames were showing upon their arrival. The fire was extinguished within ten minutes, reports stated. No injuries were reported. The Red Cross was called to assist the homeowner.

    Briggs, the dog York County police found with his tongue cut off and tied to a tree, passed away Tuesday night.  Noah's Arks Rescue posted an update on Briggs stating he had become septic and was unable to keep down any food or water from the previous day.
