Spiked Holiday Cider

Makes 6 to Servings

1/2 Gal  Apple Cider

1 Cup    Water

2             Oranges, Sliced

2            Lemons, Sliced

5            Cinnamon Stick, whole

5-7        whole Star Anise

7-10      Whole Cloves

1 Cup    Granulated Sugar

1/3 Cup  Apple Brandy (Calvados)

In a large pot over medium high heat, combine cider with water, oranges, lemons and spices.

Allow mixture to come to a boil.

Add sugar, stir to dissolve.

Reduce heat to medium low and allow Cider to cook for about 30 minutes.

Before serving, add Brandy (optional) to cider.

Serve in mugs and garnish with orange slice.
