Good morning! It is Friday, December 12th, 2014

Good morning - Kristen Miranda here with you on this Friday. I can't wait to get a peek at the weekend forecast to see just how nice it will be and Al Conklin is here to show us all what we can expect.

Steps today to ensure most of the government will keep running into 2015 - after a deadline is narrowly met last night. We'll tell you about the vote you should keep an eye out for today.

In just hours, a Charlotte police officer accused of attacking a man in handcuffs is scheduled to face a judge -

This is on the heels of Charlotte Mecklenburg police officer Randall Kerrick making his first public appearance since being charged in the shooting death of an unarmed black man... and a nationwide appearance by Charlotte's police chief talking about race relations.

As you begin your commute this morning, we're looking at some of the most dangerous intersections in Charlotte and what's being done about them.

We'll show you the large turnout to say goodbye to a man in Union County who died so tragically.

Plus how the smell in one apartment tipped neighbors off to a big problem and police couldn't believe what they found. You won't either.

And recruiting new church members - by taking them to the bar? We'll tell you about the effort underway in one congregation.

John and Al will get things started at 4:30am. Chris Larson and I will join them at 5am along with Mark Davenport in the Alert Center and Ashton Pellom reporting from the field.

We'll see you when you wake up!
