The entrance to the Brookshire Freeway from Independence Boulevard in Charlotte had to be shut down for about an hour this morning following a three-vehicle crash. One person was rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Grief counselors will be on hand at a Union County school after a beloved school bus driver was killed in a wreck. Troopers tell WBTV that Timothy McManus died when a a garbage truck crossed the center line and plowed into the the school bus head on. The driver of the garbage truck is now facing charges. The wreck happened on New Town Road near Waxhaw-Indian Trail Road.
Two people accused of involvement in a shootout on Interstate-85 in west Mecklenburg County are in police custody this morning. The shooting took place near Exit 30...the exit onto I-485 in Charlotte. Police say people in two vehicles were shooting at each other.
