It's Time To VOTE: Election Day Live Team Coverage;

It's election day, Tuesday, 4 November 2014!  Good morning to you from the WBTV News morning team...John Carter reporting to you this morning.  It's busy in the newsroom right now as we are preparing to bring you the best and most complete coverage of today's vote!  And speaking of sure to get out and cast your vote today!

We have LIVE team coverage of all aspects of the election today.  Among the many aspects we're covering...we'll be LIVE with the latest on what has turned out to be the most expensive race in the country...the race for North Carolina's U.S. Senate seat.  Incumbent democratic Senator Kay Hagan is in a showdown with republican challenger Thom Tillis.

We'll also be LIVE in South Carolina...with details on the big races there, including the heated race for the Governor's seat.

Polls in North Carolina will be open today from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM...and a new rule is in place that you need to know more straight ticket voting.  You will have to vote for each individual candidate.

Polls in South Carolina will be open from 7 AM to 7 PM.

Emergency crews in Gaston County rescued a woman from a burning home overnight.  It happened just after 11-30 last night on First Street in Cramerton. The Cramerton fire chief says four fire departments and more than two dozen firefighters were called in.

We have the latest on the sudden resignation of Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools superintendent Heath Morrison.  He's been on the job for two years and says he leaving  to care for his mother.

Monday Night Football:  Andrew Luck had another 300-yard passing game to help the Indianapolis Colts win for the sixth time in their last seven games.  Luck threw three of his four touchdown passes in the third quarter of the Colts' 40-24 rout of the New York Giants.

And the Philadelphia Eagles will not be playing with starting quarterback Nick Foles when they take on the Carolina Panthers Monday night. Foles is out indefinitely with a broken clavicle suffered in Sunday's win over Houston. Foles was replaced by Mark Sanchez after being injured on a sack by Whitney Mercilus in the first quarter of the 31-21 victory.

Today's weather offers no excuse not to vote today!  We're starting out with clear skies and not as cold as 41 degrees in Charlotte right now.  No chance of rain today.
