Early Voting Begins Today; Huge BBQ Bash Today

EARLY VOTING begins today in North Carolina...and we'll be LIVE with information to help you get to the polls.  There are a limited number of polling places that will be open as well as limited hours.  And...you must already be registered in order to vote.

The biggest barbeque event in Mecklenburg County gets underway today...and we're there LIVE!  The 85th Mallard Creek Barbeque draws thousands of hungry fans...as well as politicians.  It's a chance for you to not only get some of the best-tasting barbeque around...you can also talk one-on-one with some of the people who are running for office.

Jury selection starts today in Winston-Salem in the Sandy Parsons federal fraud trial.  He's the adoptive father of missing teenager Erica Parsons. 
Prosecutors say Parsons accepted government assistance for Erica after she disappeared.


We could learn today if charges will be filed in connection with a deadly wreck that killed two people.  Troopers say 58 year old Nong Pen and 44 year old Kevin Nguyen died when the Honda sedan they were riding in collided with a truck yesterday evening on Kings Mountain Highway in Cleveland County.


It's happened again...another person has scaled the fence at the White House.  Charges are pending after a Maryland man climbed over the White House fence last night. Twenty-three-year-old Dominic Adesanya was quickly taken into custody after video showed him punching and kicking two Secret Service dogs that were released on him.


Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper says investigators should learn in the days to come whether a gunman who shot and killed a soldier standing guard at Ottawa's war memorial had any accomplices. The gunman was shot and killed Wednesday when he stormed Parliament. 


University of North Carolina chancellor Carol Folt says the school has fired or begun disciplinary procedures against nine employees in the aftermath of a probe of a past academic fraud scandal. 


World Series action!!  The series is now even at 1 - 1 after the Kansas City Royals walloped the San Francisco Giants 7 - 2 in Kansas City last night.  Game three will be Friday night in San Francisco.
