Gay Marriage Ruling Impact On North Carolina; Charlotte House Fire

The Red Cross is helping an east Charlotte family this morning after an overnight fire heavily damaged their home.  It took nearly 30 fire-fighters to knock out the flames at the home on Coronado drive.

We're going to be LIVE with more on the U.S. Supreme Court's decision that may allow gay marriages to become legal in North Carolina.  We have reaction from the governor and more.

The group "Nuns on the Bus", which is made up of Catholic nuns, will roll into the Y-W-C-A on Park Road in Charlotte this afternoon.  The group travels the country, speaking about social justice and the importance of voting.

A patient at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gaston County met the C-D-C's screening criteria for Ebola.  But hospital officials tell us they ruled the deadly virus out, and sent the patient home.

A potentially historic discovery could put a developer's plans in jeopardy.  Canadian developer, Mattamy Homes, wants to build new homes in a wooded area of Lake Wylie in York County.  However, residents say stones on the property are from Africa and are proof that the area was once a cemetery for slaves.

Band students at West Mecklenburg High School are getting a special performance today.  Grammy-award winning trumpet player Wynton Marsalis will play and teach a master class to band students at the school this morning.

A judge is holding a hearing today to find out how North Carolina will comply with an appeals court ruling that restores same-day registration and counting out-of-precinct ballots.

In Monday night football...the Seattle Seahawks managed to overcome several costly penalties to earn a 27-17 victory in Washington against the Redskins.

In MLB playoffs...the St. Louis Cardinals hold a 2 -1 edge over the Los Angeles Dodgers in their best of five games series after a 3 - 1 win last night.  And the Washington Nationals remain alive in the playoffs after a win over the San Francisco Giants last night.
