Deputies: Marion man accused of stealing scuba gear from Old Fort home

OLD FORT, NC (FOX Carolina) -

The McDowell County Sheriff's Office has charged a man accused of breaking into homes and stealing more than $6,000 worth of property.

Deputies said on July 23, it was reported to the sheriff's office that someone broke into the home on Executive Estates Drive in Old Fort and stole scuba gear, a case of wine, a jewelry box, coins, a television, luggage, power tools, men's mouth braces and a speaker system.

Detective Andy Manis said he received information that 29-year-old King David Manning Jr. may have stolen the goods.

Manning was arrested and charged with one felony count each of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods.

The sheriff's office said most of the property was located and additional arrests are pending.
