CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford says accusations and requests made by his ex-wife Jenny in their contentious divorce are "preposterous, crazy and wrong."

Attorneys for Jenny Sanford are asking for limits on the South Carolina congressman's visitation with his youngest child and that he undergo psychiatric tests and take anger management and parenting courses.

In a statement released to The Associated Press on Wednesday, Sanford says he has done everything he can to be both a good father and former husband since the couple divorced in 2010.

Sanford says he has tried to avoid responding publicly to issues stemming from the divorce but must address them when they suggest he is an inadequate father or congressman. He says anyone who knows him knows the accusations are false.
