PRESIDENTIAL VISIT LIVE TEAM COVERAGE
President Obama is coming to Charlotte today to speak before the American Legion Convention at the Convention Center in uptown. That's going to create some traffic issues when Air Force One arrives around 11:20 AM. Our live team coverage will alert you to the possible routes the presidential motorcade will take and what impact that's going to have on traffic and your commute.
Our live team coverage will also look at what the President will be speaking about today. Many veterans are concerned about issues involving VA hospitals. We'll have much more on the controversy. Also, NC Senator Kay Hagan will also be addressing the American Legion Convention today as well.
CITY COUNCIL AND TWC ARENA IMPROVEMENTS
Charlotte City Council got a closer look at the costs involved in making renovations to Time Warner Cable Arena during last night's council meeting. The Hornets and the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority had initially asked for $48 million...but that cost is now closer to $30 million. We'll tell you how the city plans to pay for the improvements...and when city council could vote on the issue.
SOUTHPARK MALL TERROR THREAT
You may have heard talk about a terror threat involving Charlotte's Southpark Mall. The FBI says there is no credible threat to the mall. We talk to the former FBI agent in charge of North Carolina about the issue.
The U-S Chamber of Commerce will host a job fair for veterans at the American Legion's National Convention today.
An overnight fire at a Charlotte church caused an estimated $50,000 in damage. It happened at Church Temple Refuge: Church of the Living God along Caldwell and 15th street.
