Hi everyone, this is Paul Cameron at my desk in the WBTV Newsroom getting ready for tonight's 11:00 news.

The President arrived in Charlotte tomorrow to talk to the American Legion convention at a time when many veterans want answers. We talked to Legion members tonight who want President Obama to address the VA scandal and other cutbacks to the military.

If you work in uptown Charlotte, you will notice a heavy security presence around the noon hour. It will be Mr. Obama's first trip to Charlotte since accepting his party's nomination at the 2012 Democratic National Convention.

On the first day of class for CMS Schools, a 16-year old girl was hit by a car near West Charlotte High. Police say she tried to cross busy Beatties Ford Road without using a nearby crosswalk.

Rumors of a terror threat against SouthPark Mall ran rampant on social media this weekend. But that's all it was, a rumor. The FBI knows of no credible threats. But former FBI agent Chris Swecker says get used to it, there'll be more of this stuff in the near future.
