TAYLORSVILLE, NC (WBTV) -

An Iredell County man has been arrested after deputies say he killed his 44-year-old girlfriend in Alexander County.

Deputies say they were called out on Friday to the report of a death along the 300-block of Sipe Road in Taylorsville.

According to investigators, 47-year-old Roy Morgan Jr called 911 and said he'd found the body of Nathalie Sipe Murphy, 44, in her home. He told 911 operators that he thought she'd overdose on medication.

"She took a whole bottle of Effexor," he told the 911 operator, which is an anti-depressant.

He told 911 operators that he had been asleep and when he woke up Murphy's eyes were black and she wasnt breathing

"She tried this before on me last weekend," he claimed. "Please, please hurry."

The 911 operator then walked Morgan through the process for CPR. He tells 911 that she is cold and stiff.

"I took the pills away from her last night," Morgan said through tears. "She has like five bottles of Effexor, she kept saying she wanted to die. I throwed all the kitchen knives out."

Morgan says he and Murphy had been dating around two or three weeks.

Murphy was pronounced dead at the scene.

After being questioned at the scene, Morgan was charged with murder. He is currently being held in jail without bond.
