14 And 15-year-old boys arrested after robbery car-jacking, chase

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Two juveniles were arrested on Thursday for their involvement in a robbery car-jacking, according to Charlotte police.

The incident happened around 5:18 a.m. on the 6200 block of Barrington Drive and involved two boys who were 15 and 14-years-old.

Police say the victim reported that the armed duo approached him and took his vehicle by force.

A short time later officers located the vehicle on West Sugar Creek Road and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop.

A short pursuit then ensued to the 3400 block of Oakwood Avenue where the driver of the vehicle was taken into custody.

The passenger ran from the scene, but was later apprehended by the K-9 Unit.

Both teens were interviewed by detectives before being taken to the Gaston County Correctional Facility. 

The 15-year-old was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, armed robbery, reckless driving, speeding to elude apprehension, and driving without a license.

The 14-year-old was charged with armed robbery and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Neither boy's name has been released.
