Deputies: 73-year-old woman killed in car accident in Clover

CLOVER, SC (WBTV) -

A woman was killed and another injured in a vehicle accident in Clover on Thursday.

The wreck happened around 3 p.m. on Highway 55 near Agony Acres and involved two cars.

Troopers said that a 2004 Chevy Sedan, being driven by 73-year-old Bonnie Sanford of Winston-Salem, disregarded a stop sign and struck a second vehicle.

That second vehicle was being driven by 32-year-old Jennings M. Quinn from Clover.

Sanford, who investigators said was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A third woman, 77-year-old Mary McCarter, was taken to Carolinas Medical Center. Her condition has not been released.

Quinn, officials said, was uninjured.

SC Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
