Deputies and neighbor foil break in

SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) -

Sheriff's deputies, with a big assist from a neighbor, were able to stop a crime in progress on Wednesday.

It happened at about 11:29 am.   The Rowan County Sheriff's Office was called to investigate a breaking & entering in progress at 2530 Patterson Rd.

Deputies arrived on the scene and spoke to a Mr. James Gregoire, who was checking the home at 2530 Patterson Rd.

Mr. Gregoire said that when he pulled up to the home he saw two men run from the house.  Mr. Gregoire also notice a woman sitting in a dark colored Honda Accord parked at the home.

The woman drove around his truck and took off down Patterson Rd.  The car displayed a NC tag of BLN1198.

Deputy Ashby, who was responding to the call spotted the suspect vehicle, and stopped it on Patterson Rd, where he took the woman into custody.

Deputy Rowland was able to determine that the last place the two men were seen running was in a field beside Davis Farms.

As Deputy Rowland walked the wood line, near Lizzie Lane, the 911 Center received a call that a man was spotted running in that area.

Deputy Rowland called Landis PD to respond and assist with running a track by their K-9.  Officer Barlow of the Landis PD responded with his K-9 to assist.

Deputy Dixon, who was assisting with the K-9 track spotted a man, later found to be Katerious Oakes, fitting the description of one of the persons who ran from the scene of the home break-in.

Deputy Dixon placed this black male under arrest.  Deputy Cauble who was riding the area of the break-in was alerted by the 911 Center that a citizen had spotted a man on foot on Patterson Rd., and Deputy Cauble responded to that area and placed the second man, later found to be Jhmere Daniels, under arrest.
