Sheriff: Lancaster shootings may be connected

An investigation is underway after deputies believe two shootings in Lancaster may be connected, one left bullet holes in the side of several apartments.

According to the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to Springs Memorial Hospital on Sunday night after a 20-year-old man showed up at the emergency room after being shot.

Deputies say the man's injuries were not serious.

Investigators say the shooting happened along the 900 block of 12th Street where witnesses told officers that someone began shooting a group of people.

Monday night another shooting happened at the Woodcreek Apts. on Meeting Street around 10:15 p.m.

Witnesses say two men began shooting at a car that was in the parking lot where several people were sitting.

The driver of the car attempted to drive away and crashed into several parked cars in the parking lot.

Deputies say several apartments were struck by errant gunfire, but no one was injured.

Investigators say they have a person of interest in the shootings and believe they may be connected.

"The individuals involved in these incidents obviously have no regard of the life and safety of other people," Sheriff Barry Faile said. "We are working diligently to get those responsible off of the street. We would also like encourage anyone with information about these incidents to come forward."
