Judge schedules Parsons fraud trial for mid-October

ROWAN COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - A judge has set a new trial date for the adoptive parents of missing Rowan County teenager Erica Parsons.

On Tuesday, Casey and Sandy Parsons' trial on federal fraud and identity theft charges was set to begin on October 14.

The couple is accused of accepting money from the government for their adoptive daughter after she went missing.

Several weeks ago, they pleaded not guilty to the 70 charges they are facing. Click here to read more about the plea.

The case was continued to allow the Parsons time to prepare for the trial.
