Charlotte woman with dementia found after going missing

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Police in Charlotte have located a elderly woman with dementia who went missing Monday.

Eighty-year-old Sarah Whitner, who may go by the name "Salley," was last seen on Monday at her home on the 5000 block of Randolph Road.

Whitner's family told officers that they believe she left the home around 10:30 a.m. looking for her dog. The dog was located later Monday by Animal Control.

Whitner was later found safe by police
