Good morning... Kristen Miranda here ...with the crew getting ready for WBTV News This Morning.
There is so much news to cover today, I really do hope you'll tune in to WBTV when you wake up.
We begin with Team Coverage on the shooting of two Charlotte Mecklenburg police officers - and a 10 year old girl. The suspect in the case, 27 year old Brandon Brewer, still at CMPD headquarters being questioned this morning. Our Kristen Hampton will be there awaiting his transfer to jail, while our Mark Davenport will be in the Kingville Drive neighborhood in north Charlotte where this all happened last night.
We're also watching significant developments coming out of Ferguson, MO overnight. More protests, Molotov cocktails being thrown at police, and now we've learned Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon has ordered the National Guard to Ferguson to "help restore peace and order". Our Brody O'Connell is watching this from the Alert Center.
And, whether you want to believe it or not, it is BACK TO SCHOOL time! Several area districts going back today...time to get back into the routine! Ashton Pellom is live in Lancaster County where the busses will start rolling in just a couple of hours.
It is a busy day and we have lots to fill you in on...so we'll see you from 4:30am-7am on WBTV and then from 7am-9am on Bounce.
