Three men were arrested in Union County after police say they forced their way into an apartment and tied up the resident during a burglary.

Willie Lamar Rushing, 26, Princeton Patterson, 27, and Randall Andrew Miller, 21, were all arrested on Tuesday and charged with first degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon, larceny of a firearm, and four counts of kidnapping.

The incident happened on Sunday around 11:45 p.m. at an apartment on the 200 block of Venus Street in Monroe.

Police say the three men armed with handguns forced their way into the apartment and took the victim, who has only been identified as a female, into the kitchen and tied her up.

The men then demanded money and ransacked the apartment before leaving the scene. Police say they stole cash and a .38 revolver. All three men were wearing t-shirts over their faces.

Investigators soon identified the men, and they were arrested.

"Our officers, along with help from the Union County Sheriff's Office, conducted a very thorough investigation which led not only to the identification of the suspects, but also the apprehension," said Police Chief Bryan Gilliard.

All three men are being held on a $200,000 bond each.
