For the second time in two weeks, a popular billboard along a Charlotte interstate has been hit by vandals.

Someone "tagged" the Morris Jenkins billboard along Interstate 77, just north of the I-485 interchange, last week.

Company officials say the billboard was hit Wednesday or Thursday. Another billboard along 485 was hit on Friday.

Officials say the graffiti on both billboards looks similar, but the one on 485 has a mustache as well.

"It seems more like actual street graffiti, which is different from before," company officials said..

Two weeks ago, someone hit all three Morris Jenkins' billboards in the Charlotte area.

A vandal painted an eye-patch, mustache and goatee on "Bobby." They also gave him a scar on his forehead and blacked out one of his teeth.

Bobby and Mr. Jenkins are recognizable characters from Morris Jenkins television, print and radio advertising for the heating and air company.

Adams Outdoor Advertising, who owns the billboard space, was able to washed the paint off after it was initially hit.

This time it is more complicated, Morris Jenkins officials said.

"Adams said it looks like actual spray paint, so we had to order a vinyl patch to cover the graffiti part," they said.
