Police: Man flips Jeep trying to put on shoes

Davidson Police said a man taken to the hospital after flipping his Jeep on Dembridge Dr.  will be okay.

The accident happened Monday morning while the driver was on the way to work, said an officer on scene.

Davidson police, the Davidson Fire Department and MEDIC all responded to the scene and found a Jeep upside down in the road.

Dembridge Dr. was closed off initially after the accident before a tow truck flipped the Jeep and drove it away.

An officer on scene told WBTV, the investigation into the single car crash is still open but the driver told police he was trying to put on his socks and shoes while driving moments before the accident.

The driver was seen being loaded into an ambulance barefoot by WBTV cameras.

The Davidson Police Department is the lead investigating agency in the crash. They are tasked with trying to figure out what exactly caused the accident.

As of 10:00 a.m. Dembridge Dr. had reopened.
