Man wanted for double murder in Florida arrested in Charlotte

The U.S. Marshals Service arrested David Junior Lopez, in Charlotte, this morning.

Lopez was wanted in Orlando, Florida for outstanding warrants, charging him with two counts of First Degree Murder, along with one count of Attempted Murder.  

Investigators say the murders happened on August 5, 2014, in the Orlando, Florida area.

An investigation led by U.S. Marshals, from the Western District of North Carolina, along with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department, revealed that Lopez was in the Mecklenburg County area, after his vehicle was located, on the evening of August 8, 2014.  

Upon further investigation and several interviews, Lopez was found to be at a residence on the 2500 block of Marlowe Avenue, in Charlotte, NC.  Lopez was ultimately arrested and confined in the Mecklenburg County Jail, pending further court proceedings.
