Officials: 3,000 without power after northeast Charlotte wreck

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

An accident where a car struck a utility pole caused thousands of people to lose power, according to Duke Energy officials.

The wreck happened just after 4:30 p.m. on Friday on Rocky River Road near Lost Boy Court in northeast Charlotte.

Duke Energy officials told WBTV that around 3,000 people in the area lost power as a result of the crash.

Police have not said what may have led to the accident, or if any injuries were reported.
