A Cherryville man has been charged with DWI after police say he stole a motorcycle from Walmart and led deputies on a chase.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, deputies were behind the man early Thursday morning and noticed him crossing the center line. The man then ran a stop sign and tried to flee from police.
Deputies say he dropped the motorcycle in a parking lot and ran into nearby woods.
Coley Phillip Craft, 43, was arrested and charged with eluding law enforcement, possession of stolen goods and larceny of a motor vehicle.
He was also cited with driving while impaired, driving with a revoked license, reckless driving and resisting arrest.
Craft is being held in the Lincoln County Detention Center under a $30,000 secured bond.
