The largest supermoon of 2014 will be making an appearance this weekend, but probably not for people in the Carolinas.
The full moon will be visible on Sunday starting at 2:09 p.m., but will appear the largest when it reaches its perigee, the point in its orbit when it is closest to the earth.
This will be the second of three supermoons this summer.
Sadly, WBTV Meteorologist Ashley Batey says, rain and clouds will obscure our view, so it is unlikely the Carolinas will see it.
