Police: Packages found in Walmart parking lot 'non-explosive'

ROCK HILL, SC (WBTV) -

The Bomb Squad responded to Walmart in Rock Hill after two suspicious packages were found in the parking lot.

The packages, which officials only identified as duffle bags, were found on Thursday just before 3:30 p.m. at the Walmart on Dave Lyle Boulevard.

Rock Hill police and the bomb squad responded to the scene and blocked off the section of the parking lot that the bags were found in.

Just before 4 p.m. police told WBTV that both packages were checked and cleared. They did not confirm what was in the bags, but did say they were non-explosive.

Both Walmart and Dave Lyle Boulevard remained open during the incident.
