Police: Woman shot inside car, dies at hospital


A teenager has been arrested after a 35-year-old Charlotte woman was fatally shot during an argument in a car in west Charlotte.

According to police, 18-year-old Eric Bernard Sloan Jr was arrested on Tuesday morning in the death of Felicia Amanda Clinkscale.

According to police in Charlotte, officers were called to Presbyterian Hospital on Monday evening just before 7 p.m. to the report of a woman with gunshot wounds. That woman was later identified as Clinkscale.

Officers say Clinkscale was injured during an argument with Sloan inside a car along the 2700-block of Columbus Circle.  She was then rushed to the emergency room by a family member.

Clinkscale died at the hospital.

Detectives say this was not a random act of violence.

Sloan was arrested Tuesday morning by CMPD's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team. He was questioned by police and charged with murder.
