(CNN) – Southwest Airlines and SeaWorld will end their more than 25-year partnership at the end of this year.
For years, three planes painted to look like the famous killer whale Shamu have flown nationwide for the airline.
It has all been part of a marketing partnership between the companies.
Mutual announcement blames “shifting priorities for the decision to split at the end of the current contract. Earlier this year, activists delivered a signed petition at Southwest headquarters, urging the airline to end the relationship.
They cited the CNN documentary Blackfish, which focused on some controversial practices at SeaWorld.
In case you were wondering, all three Shamu planes will be repainted to match the rest of the Southwest fleet.
