Toddler, grandmother treated after fire breaks out in house

SAWMILLS, NC (WBTV) -

A toddler and his grandmother were taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation after a fire at a house in Sawmills Tuesday morning.

While it was not a big fire, there was heavy smoke damage inside the home. Fire investigators believe it was started in the kitchen.

Investigators are still trying to pinpoint the exact cause.

Officials didn't have the condition of those treated for smoke inhalation, but their injuries are not believed to be serious.

The Red Cross has been called to assist the family.
