Residents concerned about traffic ahead of new Charlotte outlets

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

In days, thousands of shoppers will arrive at the Grand Opening of the Charlotte Premium Outlets.

With people, comes traffic, which has residents in the area concerned.

Tuesday evening, neighbors in the Berewick community are holding a meeting to discuss traffic issues and solutions.

Residents tell WBTV traffic is already bad on their streets, and they on expect it to get worse as the outlets open.

Resident's say they hope to discuss different solutions, such as installing speed bumps, to deter the traffic.

Residents received an email saying representatives from the city and the community's developer would be present to answer questions.

WBTV reached out to the City of Charlotte for comment, but no one we spoke to knew about the meeting.

The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Berewick Recreation Center.
