Nine shots fired at Salisbury house occupied by several people, including baby

SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) - Salisbury Police are looking for someone who fired as many as nine shots at and into a house on E. Liberty Street Tuesday night.

According to the report, Nellie Lynch reported that someone fired the shots from the street at her home in the 700 block at around 10:30 PM.

Lynch says there were six people inside the house at the time, including a baby. No one was hurt, but several shots did strike the front door, siding, and gutter in front of the house.

"Oh my God, that's a little close to home," said Linda Whicker, who lives nearby.  "It's so many kids and the older people around here and I'm older, I don't want nobody shooting up my house."

"Around about 11:30, I was laying in bed, about asleep, hear this loud noise, just ringing out," said next door neighbor Jonathan Nelly.

"Definitely time to get up and get out, the fact that I have a 6 month old inside, that could have very easily been my house, my kid, someone in my house could have gotten hurt, that's not cool."

Anyone with any information about the shooting is asked to call Salisbury-Rowan Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
