Concord aims for repeat

CABARRUS COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - The Concord Spiders return to the field for the 2014 season aiming to repeat as South Piedmont Conference champions, or even better, to avenge their loss in the 3A state title game.

The spiders came up one yard short of scoring a game tying touchdown in the big game.

Rocky Reid will lead the way for running backs in Cabarrus county, ran for more than 3,000 yards last season, and has already verbally committed to Tennessee.

Head Coach Glen Padgett says, "Anytime you have a player like Rocky returning, it's exciting. It gives us a chance to do more things, in terms of running the football".

Concord will open the season, August 22 against A.L Brown, the annual "Battle of the Bell" game.
